The move marks a significant step in bringing one of India's most prestigious engineering institutions directly to the professional workforce, without requiring them to step off the job.

Launched as part of the institute's Platinum Jubilee initiatives, the programs include Executive Post Graduate Certificate courses in Generative AI and Agentic AI, AI-Native Software Engineering, and Applied AI and Machine Learning, along with an Executive Program in Technology and AI Leadership. The curriculum draws directly from IIT Kharagpur's active research ecosystem, with faculty publishing in leading global conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS, ACL, ICCV, and IEEE journals.

Designed with an industry-oriented approach, the curriculum focuses on the practical application of AI technologies such as large language models, generative systems, and agent-based frameworks, prioritizing real-world deployment and system design over purely theoretical learning.
