Aussie Energreen is advising Victorian homeowners to take the following steps before 31 July 2026:

MELBOURNE, VIC — June 2026 — With significant changes to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program's air conditioning rebates set to take effect on 31 July 2026, Melbourne-based VEU Accredited Provider Aussie Energreen is calling on Victorian homeowners to understand what's changing — and why acting before the deadline could save them thousands of dollars.

What Is Changing on 31 July 2026?
The Victorian Government's Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) has announced a restructure of VEU rebates applicable to reverse-cycle air conditioning systems. From 31 July 2026, the rebate calculation methodology, eligible product categories, and VEEC (Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate) generation rates for air conditioning upgrades will be revised.
For homeowners currently considering upgrading from gas heating to a reverse-cycle split system or ducted air conditioning system, installations completed before 31 July 2026 will be assessed under the current, more generous rebate framework.

Why This Matters for Victorian Homeowners
VEU rebates have enabled thousands of Victorian households to upgrade to energy-efficient heating and cooling at a fraction of the standard cost. Under the current framework, eligible homeowners switching from gas ducted heating to a reverse-cycle ducted system have been able to claim between $3,000 and $6,000 in rebates, depending on system size and efficiency rating.
After 31 July 2026, rebate amounts under the new framework are expected to change — meaning homeowners who delay their upgrade may receive significantly less financial support for the same installation.

Aussie Energreen's Message to Victorian Homeowners
Wasim, Director at Aussie Energreen, said the upcoming changes represent one of the most important deadlines Victorian homeowners have faced under the VEU program in recent years.
"We're already seeing an increase in enquiries from homeowners who have heard about the July deadline and want to lock in their upgrade before the rebate structure changes. Our strong advice is not to wait. If you've been thinking about replacing your old gas heater or upgrading your air conditioning system, the window to maximise your rebate under the current framework is closing fast."
"As a VEU Accredited Provider, Aussie Energreen manages the entire process for our customers — from the initial energy assessment right through to installation and rebate documentation. Homeowners don't need to navigate the paperwork themselves. We handle everything."

Key Deadlines and Actions for Homeowners
Aussie Energreen is advising Victorian homeowners to take the following steps before 31 July 2026:

Book a free energy assessment as soon as possible — assessment availability is filling up rapidly ahead of the deadline
Confirm eligibility for VEU rebates under the current framework with an accredited provider
Schedule installation to ensure works are completed and documented before the cut-off date
Do not rely on post-deadline quotes — rebate amounts quoted today may not reflect the new framework applying from 1 August 2026
