Instructions

• Preheat oven to 170°C. Grease and line an 8-inch round tin.
• Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder.
• In another bowl, mix sugar, milk, oil, curd, and vanilla.
• Add dry ingredients to wet and fold gently.
• Pour batter into the tin and bake for 30–35 minutes.
• Let it cool completely before frosting.
• Dissolve sugar in water.
• Add cherry syrup if using and set aside.
• Beat chilled whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla essence until stiff peaks form.
• Cut the cooled cake into two or three horizontal layers using a serrated knife.
• Place the first layer on a board or plate.
• Brush with soaking syrup.
• Spread whipped cream evenly and add chopped cherries.
• Repeat for remaining layers.
• Cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
• Decorate with chocolate shavings and cherries on top.
• Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
• Serve and enjoy!
